The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart é uma banda de Indie Pop originária de Nova Iorque. Formada por Kip Berman (Voz e Guitarra), Peggy Wang (Teclado e Voz), Alex Naidus (Baixo), Christoph Hochheim (Guitarra) e Kurt Feldman (Bateria).

Seu primeiro álbum foi EP independente, auto-intitulado "The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart", lançado em 2007 pelo selo Painbow Records.


No dia 3 de Fevereiro de 2009, pelo selo Sluberland Records, lançam o álbum de estreia, intitulado também de "The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart". Seu álbum de estreia alcança a 9ª posição no Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Em 22 de Setembro de 2009, lançam seu segundo EP, intitulado de "Higher Than The Stars". E em 29 de Março de 2011, lançam o álbum "Belong".

O nome da banda vem de uma estória infantil com o título de mesmo nome da banda, escrita por um amigo do vocalista Kip Berman.
