Joy Division - Discografia

Joy Division, nome sugerido por Ian Curtis, retirado do livro "The House Of The Dolls" (1965), escrito por um judeu... em que Joy Division era o nome de uma casa de prostituição alemã.

Banda lendária composta por; Ian Curtis (Voz, Letras, Ocasionalmente Guitarrista), Bernard Sumner (Guitarras & Teclados), Peter Hook (Baixo, Backing Vocals) e Stephen Morris (Bateria)

Considerada o "Pai Do Pós Punk", Joy Division influencia até hoje bandas como Editors, Plus Ultra, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, She Wants Revenge, The Killers (que inclusive têm Shadowplay como faixa do álbum Sawdust), além de serem grandes ídolos de outros artistas, como Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) e o brasileiro Renato Russo (Legião Urbana)

Ian Curtis cometeu suicidio em 18 de Maio de 1980 (Um pouco antes de ver sua banda alcançar o sucesso que tanto desejou).
Após a morte de Ian Curtis e o fim do Joy Division, os integrantes remanescentes formaram o "New Order".
